I've always been a bit of a big kid and I love classic cars. I've also always wanted a classic car but finding one practical enough to use as a commute to Milton Keynes that wouldnt rot away infront of my eyes was looking like a challenge. I thought about MGBs and Triumphs and many more but for one in reasonably condition to take on as a rolling restoration it would seem are very expensive. it ended up being a toss up between a ford capri 3000E or a reliant of some kind. The SE6 series didnt seem sporty enough and looked a bit large and cumbersome (im not saying it is but it looked at felt it to me) and i love the looks of the old SE5s, i would have really liked an SE4 coupe but they fetch a bit more and have the lesser powerfull version of the essex engine or a straight 6 as standard so i opted for the more readily available SE5.

After searching and browsing eBay and autotrade (way overpriced on there) I found what looked like a great deal in Bishops stortford but it turned out it needed more work to the body and running gear than i would have liked, however after going out for a spin in it I was hooked and definatly after an SE5. a week later I impulsivly bought a dark metallic blue 1974 SE5a from east sussex. Maybe it wasnt the best buy and I wont let on how much i paid but its definatly not a bad example of the car! it just needs some TLC as it has been sitting for some time. And here follows the story of me and my scimi 'Talulah' as the previous owner called her... I indeed intend to turn Talulah into a beast, a monster scimitar of concourse condition and modernise it as much as possible without however removing the very essensce of what this car as about.
